The meeting was convened by Wendy Rosier, president.

She announced the new member, Trish Cannon.

There were no minutes of the previous meeting.

Happy Valentines Day and I hope you get some good , loving images on this day that is supposed to be set aside for admiration. We have always been so lucky to have some of the best examples of skill, friendship and consideration as part of our unwritten theme and it has been my distinct honor  to be associated with you all - you truly  my valentines and I love you all!

Regular time  7pm - 9pm.  Starting on February 15th (3rd Wednesday-for Feb only) then back to 2nd Wednesdays from March on (Mar 8, Apr 12, May 10, jun 14)

Wow... where did all these folks (35’ish) come from... I walked into a room that was buzzing... lots of new faces... lots of conversation and laughter... lots of old friends too... it was wonderful...

I am entering this as a blog because I don't want to appear as someone who is losing their interest in our club. For many years I have participated in as many activities of our club as I could manage but current events are curtailing my attendance - not my participation in some areas, but I am currently unable to attend meetings and breakfasts and other opportunities. I value my membership and my association with all of the fine photographers I have become acquainted with and I continue to…

Jenna Aston, a former sponsored student and active member, is now studying at UBC.  She is looking for a tripod.  Either reasonably priced or one that is gathering dust and needs a young person to use it.  I do not know if weight is an issue.  Jenna's mother, Holly, told me that she comes home to SSI monthly and can make contact on her next visit.

Congratulations to former club member AJ George on his appointment as Salt Spring Island's Fire Chief.  AJ was one of the early members who was an active participant in Eclectic Visions.  He sat his share of shows.   I hope someday he once again has time for photography.

I am wondering if anyone would like to get together Sunday afternoon to play with photos on their computers (Photoshop Elements, Paintshop, Lightroom, Gimp, Nik, or whatever you use).  I was thinking there should be room at Penny's to accommodate a table or two.

I am sure we can learn from each other or help out each other.  Just throwing this out to see if there is any interest.

Minutes of Oct. 12th Meeting

In Wendy's absence the meeting was ably chaired by Bob Rogers. He welcomed new members Mindy Heppner (does she sing, I wonder?) and Kahsia Hartwell.

Ongoing and upcoming…

Congratulations to Doug.  He placed sixth in the 100 meter dash in his age group (70-74) at 55+ BC Games last week.

Doug is always foregoing Monday coffee for training.

Welcomed by Curt Firestone extraordinaire past president in is own style he scrabble to cover for Wendy who was lost on the way.... who then zoomed in in a knick of time to save the day... what a team...  about 22 people were in the rowdy crowd making Curt’s dance even more interesting... a lively crowd indeed... fun...
