Field Trip?

Anyone up for a field trip to the BC Museum in Victoria and the "Wildlife Photographer of the Year" exhibition that's running until April 6?   We can add lunch and a side bar of some photography of our own, maybe walking the Galloping Goose trail or ...?

Minutes of January 8th meeting

Posted on January 9, 2014 at 9:00pm 2 Comments

There were over 30 members attending the January meeting, with several new faces in the crowd (none of whose names I got. Welcome anyway!)

Chris Dixon ably chaired the meeting in his new post as Vice President, in Curt's absence.

Avril Kirby shared the results of the first meeting of the Eclectic Visions 2014 committee.  Some points she covered:

1.  This annual club show in the Artspring Galleries will run from Thurs. June 26 to Monday July 7, over 2 weekends, including…

Minutes of October 8th Meeting

Curt is away in Italy so Bob Rogers ably chaired the meeting.

According to the vote taken on-site re change of meeting days, Bob says, with an extremely marginal difference, our meetings days stay at status quo, every second Wednesday. 31 members voted.

Peter Paul Harnisch has posted a forum on the idea of separate photo critiqeing sessions and we will wait till he can present it in person at a meeting to hear what he has in mind and how he sees it working. It sounds like a…

Dear Arvil, Your observation about attention concerning the clouds and not the land in Nebraska Storm was very intentional on my part. Thanks for noticing. It was WILD to be so near such amazing power....

Hi Jen, No we don't have anything written down, and maybe we should have guidelines for people who are first using the site. Good idea. We all just make the same mistake and then get told! Silly, eh? And I don't think there's any other "mistakes" you can make, other than perhaps being careful who you make suggestions to about their photos. Some of us don't mind and some do. I don't, so feel free! And welcome to the club. Your photos are wonderful, and I'm sorry to see them go. Put them back in a couple at a time, maybe once a week, and you'll get lots of comments.

Hope to see you at the next meeting on November 10th. I forgot to mention that photos for critique are sent to me: so that I can display them at the meeting. This months theme is "Blue".
Also if you can send me your e-mail address, I will place you on our mailing list.

Hello Avril:
Welcome to the club. Our intent is to provide an exchange of information and support in the field of digital photography with the least amount of organization possible. Please feel free to introduce yourself to the club via a blog post so that we know who you are and where you are coming from. The other members are curious as to how you found us, what equipment you use and how you found us.

It would be great to meet you face to face so feel free to attend our monthly meeting on the second Tuesday of the month or drop-in at the Harbour House restaurant on Mondays at 10:00 AM.

Our meeting format usually has an educational component followed by a critique of 2 to 3 images by each member.

I am trying to get members to discuss the club and/or photographic issues on the forum, so please add your thoughts and ideas as you see fit.
