Avril stood in for Pierre and opened the meeting. The group sat in an informal circle as the educational part of the meeting was given over to a discussion about the future direction of the Club.
Marcia Jeanne's friend Olivia (from France) was a guest at the meeting and she told me afterwards that listening to the discussion was good practice for her English comprehension.

Pierre opened the meeting by welcoming our newest member, Merv Anderson.
Since the summer some people are not getting Club emails and Doug suggested looking in our spam boxes and, if they are there, adding them to favorites so that they are re-classified. Wendy will chat with Ning about this problem.

At last night's club meeting, many of us were curious about David Ellingsen's camera, settings, etc.

Sorry this is late buy everyone in our club is hereby invited to my wife's(Jan Sharkey Thomas") art exhibit at Gallery 8 from August 31 to Sept., 8, 2018. I couldn't get time on my computer to do this sooner and I did ask some other club members to pass the word so here it is in writing. My wife is very ill and Gallery 8 asked if they could do a a "one man/woman show on her 88th birthday (Aug. 28th).

A group of 14 Photoclub members met on August 8th and arranged the chairs in a more informal semicircle.
There are no new members. Doug was thanked for 9 years of tireless service creating and showing the monthly slideshows at the meetings. In those 9 years he missed just one meeting, for which he apologised! He is passing the torch to Derek Wilkinson who had his debut slideshow after the break.

He welcomed two new Club members - Richard Dick (who was at the meeting) and Caleb Huntington (who has something ready for the Electric Vehicle show already). He also welcomed Ann, a visitor.
