They should be 1920 px x 1080 px at least and saved in high quality (100%) Jpeg file format. When you have something to send in, email Wendy at pr@ssphotog.ca
Harbour House Wall Space Opportunity:
Evidently if anyone one is interested in exhibiting their work on the walls of Harbour House (Lobby and Restaurant, I think) they should contact Nathan at Harbour House for details and information
3. Invitation to all Club members to come for cookies and juice at Margaret Benmore’s Image’narium (garden with a twist) – on Sunday April 22, 3-5’ish….. all welcome --- would love to share our Spring with you…. 216 Fairway Crescent --- off Northend Road, up Fairway Drive towards Trincomali Heights. At the top of the first hill, South Banks comes in from the left, just about 20 feet past that is a little dirt road – Fairway Crescent --- we are the house with the Elizabeth May sunflower house number(216)… third one on the left…
4. Suggestions for Educational Events:
Does anyone have any suggestions for future Educational events – so far we have had wonderful presentations and they are all very instructive and inspiring... If you have any ideas contact any of the Exec. We will point it in the right direction….
5. Cowichan Photo Club --- Curt has been contacted by them and they would like to do a visit with us and see our island and have us visit them on a field trip… he will be in discussion with them to arrange a suitable time and event…. Sounds like fun.
6. Next Meeting: Wed. May 9, 2012 - 7:00 pm - Portock Portable... The theme of the May meeting will be “SPRING”. Forward your 2 images to Doug as soon as possible as this is going to take some creativity on his part to choreograph.
7. May’s Educational Presentation: as yet there is nothing planned – any ideas or contacts welcome… however it nothing happens we will use the time to discuss Eclectic Visions show…
8. The Evening Educational Event: was a wonderful presentation by Nancy Angermyer of Saturna island --- Nancy supports her art by doing wedding and event photography… which by the way are beautiful and very much of the islands…. but her art is clearly her passion. Her artwork is a collage effect combining photography with painting and she presented some very strong and haunting images. The evening really opened our eyes to the potential for creativity and imagination in the construction of an image… Her juxtaposition of dancers and models with beautiful historic images was very powerful and magical…. you can view her work on her website
9. Evening Members Show --- the theme was “Obsession” and Wow did that open the floodgates… it was a wonderful show with beautiful images and lots of friendly chatter and laughter… people’s obsessions were everything from shooting amazing floral shots, to arty shots of lipsticks. Some birds and dogs were the obsessions of others…. Well others obsessed over colour, light and night photography…. It was a real range and the quality of the images, the compositions and the interpretations were amazing… Well done everyone… it is so inspiring to see all of these different points of view….
If I have missed anything please feel free to add it on --- or make editorial comments... and corrections… this is a participatory sort of minute’s… thanks.
Cheers… MCB
Well done, as usual, Margaret--always fun to read your version of what happened!
