Anyone interested in going on a photo shoot to the raptor center this summer please e-mail me and let me know when you will be available to attend. Once I  get a list of interested persons and available dates then I can begin to formulate a plan. (Even if its just me and one other person). I think it should be before November.

We are scheduled to show our images at Country Grocer in the Month of August. Anna McColm has requested to show three images so there are still spaces for three more. Please let me know of others that are interested.The hanging will be done on Tuesday evening the 31st of July at 7:00 PM. 

I am tyring to organize  photo shoot at the Raptor center in Duncan. WIll the interested parties either mail or contact me throught our site here so I can start. Hopefull it will be within the next two weeks so I really need to have some names. Details will follow shortly but week days or weekends will be an important factor.

The SS Photo Club has received an announcement of the Photo Workshop & camping outing near Kamloops.  End of August.  $395.

Mr. Benson has confirmed our Sunday Photo Shoot of his Mini Train Display. The times will be the same as last week - meet at Moby's parking lot at 12:30 PM and then proceed to is facility. Car pooling would probably make things more convenient, and will the people who are still interested e-mail me to re-confirm their presence. My name is John and I am the manager of the Kerrisdale Cameras here in Victoria, and we have an event coming up that some of your members might be interested in attending on Saturday July 28th from 1-5pm that I would like for you to all share with your membership if you could please. 

We will be hosting a a demo day on most of the Pro-Sigma Lenses, and we will have a bunch of them along with the Sigma sales reps in to show you the lenses and tell you about them…

Mr. Benson has just contacted me to request a postponement of our shoot tomorrow beause of predicted inclement weather. He suggests that we postpone to next weekend. I am okay with that right now but that is July1 - Canada Day and I need to know how the remainder of the shoot members feel. Perhaps we can postpone to a futre Sunday? - maybe two weeks??

I just received confirmation from Phillip Benson for our mini railroad shoot on Sunday. He also added that the washroom is in his home and that his wife would be providing "refreshments". I think that inclement weather would not be too much of a challenge so we should be prepared to go in in any event.

June 13, 2012  - Minutes

1.  Opening remarks: Curt gave some quick comments on the EV – things are going very well and it is being received by the viewers with a great deal of enthusiasm and delight.  It is varied and wonderful…. Everyone should be proud….

2.  New Members were introduced and welcomed:  Marguerite Lee, Gerardine Charlton, Monika Huser, Juliana Slomka, Douglas Wahisten…

I am just recovering from a gigantic computer glitch and scam with the help pf MSN. If anyone received an unusual e-mail from me during that time please disregard. I did correspond with a few of you about photo shoots- but - again - if any of the information you received from me is weird - that's not me.

Our newest opportunity to go to a shoot here on the island at a very unique and easy to access site.

Mr. Philllip Benson, the creator of this site has kindly offered us, fee free, an opprtunity to photo his unique model train layout. His trains go from an inside display to a very creative outdoor environment and should be very photographable and offer some unusual shooting. We can go almost any time - but he thinks that maybe Sundays would be better beause his display is open six days…

Now that the weather is getting a little better I would like to re-establish a list of interested persons to go off-island to Duncan to the Raptor center for a shoot. PLease e-mail me your name and preference of times - week days or weekends. Projecting ahead - this weekend is Father's day not a good time for me),next weekend is Velo Village time, the weekend after that will be Canada DAy with the 4th of July to follow so I think we will be looking a time after the 4th of July  so please…

DON"T FORGET!! - The annual Round SaltSPring Island Yacht race starts at 10:00 AM tomorrow and can be viewed from many places. It starts in front of the Yacht CLub at 10:00 AM but there  is great viewing (and shooting) at Fernwood dock about 4 hours later (depending on thwe wind).
