About five days ago a flock of ducks (they appear to be mostly widgeons)flew into Churchill bay and are still here. hey are quite immobile (as they somemtes get in very cold weather) but still swimming about browsing. I just noticed that there are also quite few other water birds - Mergansers, Buffle Heads, Golden Eyes, etc. in the vicinity. We have a bright sun at the moment, which should keep them here for a while. I would say this sighting should be good for about 3 hours or more for…

I thought it was very sad and really a shame but the underlying cause was that there was no more ability within the group to accomplish the very necessary administrative tasks required to keep any organization - any "group" of people - functioning together. I was recently polled to see if I would be interested in…

For those of you who are having trouble getting your images focused when using manual, you can change the focusing screen to a split screen, like the older SLR cameras used to have. It requires dextarity and a clean environment but can be done at home. Screens run about $40 - $80 depending on type of camera. This does not affect the auto focusing of the camera but replaces the screen that is supposed to assist you in seeing if the image is in focus. I am not affiliated with any of the…

In January when we have our elections, I have proposed that we add the position of Vice President. If you have any thoughts about this change, please post them or contact me. Nothing is iron clad at this early date.
I will be in Mexico on November 9 and December 14; missing our general membership meetings. In my absence, Bob Davidson…
