We hung our images at Country grocer Deli on the 2nd of January and will retrieve them at 7:00 PM on Thursday, Jajnuary 31. The next scheduled exhibit is in March and Margaret Benmore has asked to do a "one man" show and I will be there to help her hang it on Friday, February 28 at 7:00 PM.  

The Victoria Society for Photo Based Art invites photographers and artists to submit works for “Distinctly Digital 2013” a juried digital arts exhibit that will celebrate digital art.   Work selected by our expert international jurors as finalists will be showcased at Coast Collective Art Centre May 3 – May 12, 2013. Kudos to Bill.  He did a wonderful job today of hosting the Cowichan Valley Camera Club on our behalf.

The whole day went smoothly.  Our guests were both pleased and thankful.

Fifteen SS club members are now looking forward to visiting Cowichan Valley in two weeks.

Sept. 12, 2012  - Minutes

 1.  Opening remarks:  Curt (El Prez) gave a wonderful big pat on the back to the membership (that’s us) - for all of the member’s activity over the summer --- we were showing everywhere and the images were commented on favourably by locals and visitor’s alike.  Our work even inspired many to pick up their camera’s again to play…. The Salt Spring Arts Council is currently accepting applications for Showcase Exhibitions 2013. Application deadline is 30 October 2012.   Applications are due at the end of October.

October is our month to exhibit at the Country Grocer, and as previously published, Margaret Benmore had requested the whole show for her images, she is scheduled to do that. I have planned to do the hanging on Sunday , September 30, 2012 at 7:00 PM and will be there to assist, as always.  

I had planned a trip to the raptor center for interested members but unexpected events have prevented me from doing this. I also noted that some members that had shown an interest have gone on their own anyway. Visiting the center is very simple and there is no actual "special benefit" to a "group" visit other than the wonderful camaraderie we have with each other, but I encourage anyone who wants to visit there to just do so. If I get a chance I will go, and communicate that with a blog,…
