Saturday's Times Colonist in an article about Portland, Oregon touts Blue Sky, Portland's headquarters for the Oregon Center for Photographic Arts. The web site: http://www.blueskygallery.org
I went the site and enjoyed thinking of what can be created in an urban environment. If only we had the money and population for such an endeavor.
I then looked at the examples from the current exhibition and was not impressed. On the surface what we post day in day out on our web site, and show in our exhibitions far exceeds (in my humble opinion) what I am seeing at this Portland museum/gallery.
They all seem to have a message, don't they? I'm sure some of ours do but not as political or social. I agree about the quality of ours.
