As previously stated, Gregor Alan has reserved the month of September for a "one Man" show so that leaves the month of November to still be scheduled for the remainder of the year. No one has yet come forward but we still have many weeks before that time. I am just reminding everyone that that time is available  and requesting interested parties to contact me byt the first of October, please. 

Pat Page and I are going to the raptor center in Duncan after the coffee at Harbor House tomorrow morning. Past efforts to organize a regularly scheduled trip there were not successful but Pat and I decided we wanted to do it NOW so anyone that would like to come along is surely invited. It involves ferry fare and the admiission fee for the Park ($14.00). We are planning to take the 11:20 or 12:25 ferry from Vesuvius and I am  taking my larger car and will have two extra seats if…

Somehow the information that the Country Grocer Hanging schedule lasts until 9:00 PM on the last day of the month Is printed in the right hand column of these  Blogs. I don't know how that got printed  because every time we hang it is normally for one month and on the last day of the month we take the exhibit down at 7:00 PM and I would ask that whoever prints the schedules on the right side of this page to change the scheduling for that showing to that the scheduling for hanging is from 7…

The worlds largest three masted Mega Sailing Yacht - the Athena - is anchored in the outer Ganges harbor. It is adjacent to the yacht club - and also to my house. It is 295 ft. long and is very photogenic.

Don't know when it will leave but it would probably be great for night shots and is great for daylight also.

I want to thank the membership for the prompt response I received in  my request for additional images for the July Hanging in th Deli at GVM. We now have the necessary images and they will be hung at 7PM on Sunday , June 30 at the Deli.

I have not received any additional requests to participate at GVM for July's showing so I am now Requesting that some of our Backup artists participate.  To get as much participation as possible I am asking that each person I contact commit to one or two images each and I will respond to them as to how many I would like from each one when tihs is done. Hopefully I will be able to post the names of the respondents and and their commitment before the night is over.

Chris Dixon has signed on to provide one image for the July GVM Deli show and we need and we need at lest five more - we have been hanging eight medium sized images - so please let me know in the next few days.

Gregor Allen has requeste a one man showing in September and I have scheduled it fo him in that month. Erroneuosly I reported that it was July and July is available club members to show their work. 

We are hanging at GVM Deli tomorrow night (7 PM) for the month of May. Gegor Allen has requested a one man showing in July so that time is also taken. Judy McPhee is presenting  next month and anyone interested can come and see how we do it.

I identified the bird in this image as an Immature American Robin, but after closer examination of certain features of the bird and discussion with interested parties and referencing more fully my reference materials I am convinced that the bird is, in fact, the Fox Sparrow. I have not seen this bird before anor have I potographed it but it matches all the descriptive information I have and even though it resembles the Immature Robin - and is certainly as large as a Robin - I think it is…

I have contacted the person who requested May - Judy McPhee -and she confirms that she would like to do a one woman show in May so I have accepted that and the month of May is now "booked" but all other month's listed are still available.

All my life I  have been able to celebrate St. Patrick's Day in a big way and in another in another life I always prepared a large Corned beef and cabbage meal (with my secret corned beef recipe)- but for now the feeling still remains and I want to wish all our club members a happy day and caution those of you who might be prone to this - to not drink too much green beer!

To all the ladies in our club I wish you a Happy Valentines day today - when I was a child it used to be "will you be my Valentine" and that is my wish also today - we are all so lucky to have you - the prettiest and most talented photographers in all of BC to boot!   

On November 1, I Posted the Country Grocer Deli Hanging for 2013.
