I think the herring run is over - you can usually tell when the Scoters disappear but there is always some kind of underwater attraction to some birds and the Cormorants usually stay for a long time.

It almost feels as though I should be able to read them--they look like words on a page somehow. Nice small groups make them stand out individually.
