There are a number of trees in the area that have been cleared at the top for Eagle perchiing but this tree - getting a lot of traffic from all kinds of birds - has always been a perching favorite for them. As for nesting we see them carrying nesting materials to a couple of locations across the harbor from us and before the leaves start to appear on the  trees it seems that we can locate nesting spots. One that existed when I first arrived ten years ago was on the small island close to Grace Point but increased activity on that island in the nex few years must have discouraged them.

What a great tree as well as the bird--it has a pair of wings too.
