These should be entered in the Canadian Geographic photo contest Anna--they have a special section on birds, and the first one in particular has the story as well as the wonderful photo.

They are both beautiful to look at, and because I love beach rocks I relate to a fellow protector of his pebbles. I especially like the first one for the same reasons as Doug mentions above , and I'm always impressed by beautiful saturation in full sunlight :)
