With the sun shining almost overhead a sharp picture of the birds was not possible. Interesting concept though - one of the sessions I had in a class at the university was to go out and take examples of the many aspects of overhead, full bright sun (and it can get bright in Southern California). You would be surprised at the possibilities -doorways, brick walls, planking on wooden ships, etc. this was also a good example. Special effects also occur -   like the "stars" in the reflections.

Love the backlighting  and not-quite-silhouettes. A close up of the swan with 2 stars and duck might make another good crop.
