Thanks for the nice comments everyone - it's good to be doing a bit of this again.  (But there's still a lot of garden to put to sleep and apples to dry, cabbages to pickle, leeks to freeze and compost to make.... )

Haunting images, both of them, Joanne.  Something, or someone, is there in the first one--not visible but a presence. And I love what you've done with #2.
