Spring Crocus

Discovered while walking along a shoreline path its been suggested they may be saffron crocuses -anybody know??

If they are saffron crocuses you only need another 10 thousand of them to make an ounce of saffron--get looking, Cliff!  Like the soft fluffy stuff behind the purple and the spiky greens.
