AJ - I haven't gotten the converter yet - I need to get used to tis lens as it is. When you get the converter you lose the AF, so I'll see about that,  - its great to hear your experience with this lens .

Doug - I'll be happy to do some shooting here - or anywhere else for that matter. It will be interesting to see your results.

I was about ten yards away - hand holding my new Sigma 150-500mm APO OS lens. I brought the lens to the Monday morning meeting today and everyone got a chance to inspect it and hold - a couple of people even took some shots. I carefully studied this lens for its capability and economy (I already have a Sigma 70-300mm telephoto that I am very pleased with). This lens meets my needs and I am getting acquainted with how to best use it. I do a lot of "long" shooting and wanted to extend my capability. Hand holding a long lens is not my forte, but this one is supposed to be able to produce in that mode. I will still be doing 90% or more using my tripod with it.

I want to know what your lens is too, Cliff, and how far away you were when you shot this.  Great detail on the feathers and grass.
