This information might be of interest to some - sent by a photographer friend in Port Alberni who has a show on.

"A few weeks ago I was at a favourite gallery in Victoria, Luz Gallery on Fort St. They only show photography. The prints on the wall were straight prints, no frames, no mats. There's also an article in this months "Photo techniques" magazine about shows and the author did the same thing in St Louis. If I have another show, I think that's the route I will go. It had an elegant look to it."

As well . . .I stopped in at the Point Gallery this past weekend to look at the photo show that's on. All photos that are up are being shown with no frames and mats - magnets and pins are used to show the work. It's an inexpensive alternative worth looking at. The current show is on at the gallery until June 20th.
