Based on all input for which I am thanking you, here is the new and improved version.

SALT SPRING PHOTOGRAPHY CLUB

The Photography Club is open to anyone (from beginner to expert) who loves to use a camera. Constructive learning of the technical aspects of photography; supportive sharing of images with others and general comradery are all part of the club’s reason to be.

In addition to monthly (2nd Tuesday evening) business-informative meetings; club members meet over coffee informally every Monday morning. The SS Photography Club sponsors two shows per year at Artspring and displays members’ work at various island venues. Visit the website and enjoy the photographic art.

Mondays are unofficial get-togethers. I agree with Curt. Anyone interested can contact Tom (or any other member who appears on the website) for further information. Looks good, Curt.

I have now posted an updated version taking into account everyone's constructive edits. Thank you very much. I think it is much better for the collectively thinking.

Doug, I appreciate your insights on the word, "comradery". "Comradery" stems from "comrade" which has three different definitions.
The first and most common is, "a person who shares in one's activities, occupation, etc.; companion, associate, or friend". It is this definition which I have used. If someone wants to read a different meaning into this write-up, let them. We are not a political group and therefore a political definition is at best a joke and at worst a simple misunderstanding of the purpose of a photography club. I use the word "comrade" all the time to refer to a person who is a good friend with whom I share common interests and/or values. I believe that is true for members of our club who share a common interest in artistic photography for its pure and simple joy.
If I were to change the phrase "general comradery" it would not be to "friendship" but to "good fellowship". I prefer the word, "comradery".

Doug, As our club grows, at some time in the future, without any pre-ordained notice; two members will feel that camaraderie is strong enough to light their fires. And the rest of us probably will never know. And is not privacy bliss? See you next over a cup of caffine.
