Well my Photo Club friends --- here is a golden opportunity for some practice and playtime for Photographers that does not often come to our island…

 

A Fashion Photo Shoot !!!

If you are interested the next page describes what brought this FASHION Photo SHOOT to our island… It is a part of an experiment in fundraising… 

 

The evening will give you the opportunity to work with live models and props, lighting…

• All the fashion, glamour and pressure of a Fashion shoot… right here on the island – for your creative photography pleasure…  
• Outstanding SSI models; all shapes and sizes, genders and any age – is possible… and they are really really nice…
• They are strictly novice models, but they are enthusiastic and fun…
• They will bring spontaneity and challenge to any photographer…
• Bring all the equipment you have or need, tripods, lights, lenses, backdrops – what ever you want to use or share with others…
• As a further bribe for your participation – there will be Nibblies  
• Come on out and have some FUN !!!!  Let’s see what we get…

 

Directions to Centre Court –

The new indoor tennis court is at the Golf Club… Just go straight through the parking lot and you bump into a huge beige building just beyond the work sheds…

 

Please be sure to wear sneakers

 as that is where we will be shooting on the new court…

Why we are doing this: 

 

The objective of this exercise is to reduce the demands on the SaltSpring Island donors… There are so many, many worthy causes and such a small donor pool to draw from on the island. We are hoping to find a way to direct fundraising efforts off the island… and increase our potential donor pool…

 

This experiment is to test whether or not we can use the power of the

Internet as a vehicle to contact perspective donors – donors out there in the outside world…  We are thinking BIG, really really BIG…  Donors who share our organizations interest, in this case Tennis. 

 

The SaltSpring Tennis Association is participating in this experiment in order to raise funds to support their Community tennis programs for kids/teens/adults/oldies too, and develop the Tennis Community on SaltSpring through tournaments, coaching, clinics, etc and to assist in paying off the new Court debt. 

 

The objective of the Fashion Photo Shoot – is to get some good tennis themed images.  Images than will be used in the development of a variety of products – such as a tennisbag/purse notebooks, a tennis themed mouse pad or carrier bag, posters, etc…

 

After the shoot we will be collect and select the images that can be used to produce a test item ( a Notebook designed to go in a tennis bag or purse ) and then developing the Product…

 

The biggest challenge that is yet to be resolved is…  how to find the Target Market and the channels to those Markets using the Internet… Ah there in lies a huge challenge…   We are presently looking for someone with computer wizardly skills and an interest in this type of challenge…

A teacher always arrives when needed…

 

Once we work the kinks out of the Fundraising Model – we are looking at working with other volunteer groups to assist in their fundraising efforts, which of course will provide all sorts of Photography Shoot opportunities along a wide variety of themes and locations…
