Thanks Judy. Yea, the lava flows are beautiful but they can leave quite a mess in their wake.

lovely image, I see the dragon shape.  I was there in January 2017 and have some great photos of the lava steam rising from the Volcano on the Big Island. We did the bike ride to the water's edge. The big eruption in 2018 demolished hundreds of homes and beaches that we visited.

Avril. This shot was taken about 2015 on the Big Island. I’ve heard that they’ve changed the rules regarding flying over active volcanoes, but I’m sure you’ll have fun. Also, some operators will take the doors off the helicopter so you don’t have to shoot through plexiglass. I haven’t done it yet, but that would help to get sharp images. Have a good trip. Cheers.

How perfect to be picked out in fire and molten rock. When was this? My sister and I are going to the big island this year and planning on doing the same helicopter ride as my husband and I did years ago over the volcano.
