Oh, what I meant also was the other specs. Like mode you were in, Shutter, Ap settings? Don't bother if it's a hassle to go backwards.

Thanks everyone!  Elehna-- 200 mm and then cropped, so as far out as my lens goes and balanced on a rock to steady it, since I had no tripod with me.  I didn't even have my camera with me, actually, because it was raining. Had to run back to the car to get it when the rainbow appeared.

I was using my 18-200 mm lens, at full throttle (that's tech-speak, for those of us who know these things).

I (we, my wife is an artist and a photographer also) have never seen am image taken so close to a rainbow. It almost looks as though you were ready to retrieve the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Wonderful effect - for me the number of birds is up to you.

I have one photo with one bird in but chose this one instead...not sure why!  And Cliff, this is as is, just cropped, no funny business this time.

WOW!!!

I love the striking foreground against the painter's pallet.

I might have taken the second bird out especially if I intended to print.
