Thanks Curt, and yes I have a version of just the two boats on the right and the white houses behind but for comparison sake, I wanted the two to be the same. I'll try increasing the white.

In the B&W, did you consider a crop out of the colored blue and yellow.  Also increase the white in the B&W?

In the coloured version I like the complimentary blue and orange and the way the whites go from bigger to smaller towards the back and in the b&w version I like the shapes.
