I've been going through my photos in order to clean up my site and came across a few that made me think 'I would do that differently now'. This is one of them, which I just now cropped and changed to B&W. I'll show the original underneath. I do love colour but, to me, the essence of this photo is the hat and the shadows.

They say different things to me. The coloured one says life and energy while the b&w is all shape and form. Good crop.

For you, Elehna.... Turning the background to a neutral colour didn't work because it then looked strange with the green light showing through her hat.

I like black and red together, it's very striking. Would be interesting to see a crop with colour, minus the pink in the lower left corner and with a neutral background, the way it is in the redone image.

Love the black & white. In my opinion, always more expressive when it comes to  portraits.  The hat is everything,
