Hanging by a thread
This poor male garden spider is actually swinging away from his would-be conquest Tarzan-style. We saw him make several approaches to try to woo the spiderette (spiderine!) of his dreams. It didn't end well: She ended up biting off one of his front legs when he got a little fresh.

Looks as though he's made 3 unappreciated forays. I only count 5 legs. I'm just a hunka hunka burning love...
