I just played extensively. I changed some colors. I lightly brushed with color pencil. Extensive cropping. And zoomed in with editor. Comments welcomed.

I agree the horizon was off.  I seem to have a habit of not holding my camera level.

I do not plan on printing.  The photo was taken with my Nokia.  I am starting to play with the artistic part of my editing program.

I think the flat graphic, almost poster-like effect works for both shadows and highlights.

Some very interesting pixelation seen full size.

For me, the figure in the canoe is definitely the focal point.

I was looking more at the black bits in the rocks that give it flatness, and it's neither good flat nor bad flat--it's interesting flat. The composition is good as is with everything pointing to the right and the figure adds a nice touch. Did you want your horizon not straight?

Avril,  Good flat?  or Bad Flat?  I see flat in the background ocean on right.  I left this much in as I thought it was need for composition?

Interesting shadows. Their lack of detail makes it all seem quite flat--maybe something to keep in mind for the new Artspring show featuring planes. (not the ones that fly but the ones that lie, and by that I don't mean the ones that tell untruths.)
