I like the sense of empty spaces the top one gives me, even of abandonment in those cropped rocks that could have been old castles. Beautiful. And in the bottom one all the leading lines point to the far bright island, so Pat's right--they do seem like different photos. How exciting photography is!
I like both versions a lot. In fact, they don't seem like the same photo.
I find a conflict between uncertainty and beauty: At first it seems (to me) necessary to identify the distant object (a treed rocky island) and then it's distracting. The foreground is a glorious by comparison.
This crop, suggesting a longer lens in portrait format, uses the far island to advantage:
(I also leveled the waterline and tweaked a bit overall.)
