This photograph was taken on a beach in Australia at low tide after a receding wave had left the wet sand covered with a skim of water. The original was a slide that was digitized by scanning with a slide scanner and then cropped and processed to reduced the brightness. This removed the detail on the surface of the water and left a dark background instead.
