Retrieval is one of the important lessons and takes time to work on. The trainer launched the object and I caught the action as the dog was locating the missile in the air.

Doug, when the trainer stands in waist deep water her particular style is not to throw overhand but to throw almost under hand with a sweeping arc from her right side and up in the air to get propulsion. Hence her arm ends up almost straight up in the air.
