Inspired by Avril's 'Collaboration' series I decided to work on a drawing my grandfather made of his wife, my grandmother. I added my mother (left) and her granddaughter (my niece), on the right.

Thank you all for your comments. My Grandmother died of tuberculosis when she was 24, just after giving birth to my mother, so none of us knew her. She was an art student, fell in love with her art teacher(my Grandfather) and had a few happy years with him before she died. My Grandfather drew and painted her and my sense of her comes from those images. I have copies of some of her drawings...she was gifted and had a quirky sense of humour.

I agree Anna, this is a wonderful portrait gallery.

Your grandfather was a talented artist.

This is beautiful, Anna! I can see a little family resemblance in your mother's and grandmother's eyes. I think you should print this and put it in a place of honour.
