Found the second one, which I like better.
I agree Avril. But then I like images with higher contrast.
Your top / first image told a broad stroke story with lots of detail.
This one tells the same story in less detail and leaves the viewer to fill in the tale of the moment.
Nice one. That small solid black figure in the midst of the roiling waves looks very vulnerable.
The first image puts the surfer 'out there', and therefor in scale to that massive ocean, which for me is much more dramatic.
