Old Maple

Sad to say, but the beautiful old maple in the hay field at Burgoyne Bay Park came down in the last storm ....... loved that tree!

I don't know why I named this old fella a Maple because I know it's an Oak ...... there are some people who probably think I don't know my "my Oak from a hole in the ground" but not this time!

 

Anyway here's a shot of it now ..... too bad, a combination of weight and really wet, super-saturated soil I suspect. Someone has placed a couple of bouquets of daffodils on it's trunk in remembrance!
