The Composite Eye
A Greg Klassen Workshop
June 21, 22 & 23
Program Room, SSI Public Library - POSTPONED
Greetings,
Greg Klassen firmly established his Salt Spring credentials with a recent solo show entitled "Who?" at Artspring.
Born in cold-war Germany, he grew up immersed in diverse cultures and languages. The camera, and the question of how we perceive the world have been a large part of Greg’s life. He has worked as a Science Writer, Lab technician, Teacher, Researcher and Photographer/Artist.
After an ~30 year carrier as a scientist, Greg earned a Diploma in Visual Arts from the New Brunswick College of Craft and Design in 2009; in 2010 he was named Emerging Artist of the Year by the Beaverbrook Art Gallery, and in 2012 he graduated with a Masters of Applied Arts from Emily Carr University of Art and Design.
Greg has participated in over 30 group and solo exhibits. His work can be found in numerous public and private collections in Canada and abroad.
Chris and Greg--Just wondering if the later courses that you're going to be running on successive Saturdays will cover the same territory?
The next phase of the workshops will be more detailed projects a week apart to allow more time for thinking/experimenting/"making" your next images. So - a day of classroom followed by a week of experimentation, followed twice more by class time/work week.
This will be getting right into it . . .
Greg recommends covering the material in the first workshop before signing up for the "phase two" material.
I'll sign up for this one then, Chris.
