This picture is of one of his trees. :)  I picked him up hitch-hiking once and he showed me his nursury.  There were trees in one gallon pots that had grown right through and into the ground.

Thanks!  I'm enjoying the shape it creates; a mandala with pointed star burst points.  This is the growing tip so you can imagine it growing towards you, continuing with the pattern.
