Another of my aggressive images - lucky to get water splashes,closing wings and reflection all at once - he was almost on his prey.

Wonderful capture.Power and grace-aggression and beauty...swans are so interesting.A friend once described seeing a swan at Beacon Hill Park swim across the pond ,with its neck stretched out just above the water,and pick off baby ducks one by one.She said it looked like a snake.I've never seen swans the same since!

Actually Doug, no. I have seen geese go after a human so I imagine a swan has the same capability. Here, though, we have almost hand fed both the Canadian Geese ad the swans. I think its a matter of trust with these birds after they get to observe you and know that you are doing something for them. The awful negative to that is that would make them tend to want to trust other humans - which is very dangerous for them.

The reflection's even scarier than the bird - what an impressive show of force, and the jagged wing feathers add to his ferocity.
