Eclectic Visions 2023 Update
This year's Eclectic Visions was,
I think, one of
our best exhibits. We had over 600 visitors over the two weeks and 291 voted for their favourite photographer. Winner this year is Earl Hirtz for his 'Misty Morning at Montegue' image with 36 votes. Congratulations Earl!
The opening went quite smoothly, hard to count the exact people attending, but I think over 50 including all the members and their families. We went through 12 bottles of wine, lots of cheese and crackers, fruit kabobs and veggies, and wonderful sweets from Country Grocer.
Payment for sales from the show will be sent to members in a couple of weeks.
Thanks again to all the participants for creating a wonderful show, for Razali hanging all the images perfectly, for all the volunteers sitting your 3 ½ hour shift and greeting people, making all feel welcome and for mentioning to vote.
Many thanks to Country Grocer - donating $200 (food), Thrifty's donated $200 (Flowers & Food) Upper Ganges Liquor Store - wine and server, AND Salt Spring Inn for the People's Choice prize.
Thank you all for a great show!
Have a wonderful summer, hope to see you at our next meeting on July 12, at the library between 7-9 pm - Howard will do a presentation on Fashion Photography and your themed photo for the month is . . . . fashion. Take photos of anything fashionable. (dogs, cats, people, cars, boats, jewelry, etc. etc.)
July 1 - Canada Day celebration at the Car Show could be a great place to get some ideas.
Please check out our website for a photo opportunity with the Driftwood's 'A Day in the Life of Salt Spring' which starts July 1 at 6 am. Contact the Driftwood for more info. driftwood@gulfislandsdriftwood.com
