For those who had been unable to attend the gathering last weekend but wanted to see a range of his work dating back from his high school/undergraduate university days through to the present: most of the pieces that we put up for his celebration of life are still on display at GIFTS, and I encourage you to go see them soon, as they will slowly be taken down over the coming week or so.
The ‘We are Salt Spring’ banner in town will stay up until the end of October, approximately.
I feel he would have appreciated this fragment of a poem:
“Doesn’t everything die at last, and too soon.
Tell me, what is it you plan to do
with your one wild and precious life?”
(from The Summer Day – Mary Oliver)
