Nikon 200-500 @ 500mm, ISO 250, f/11, 1/320s

50% crop, adjusted in LR then ran through Nik Collection's presharpener, noise reduction, then output sharpener. Really liked the result vs just using LR.

I need to remember to increase shutter speed while waiting for a take-off.

@ Larry, I typo'd- it's actually just 50% crop

LR was used for everything but sharpening and noise reduction. I didn't sharpen on export with this one to avoid over processing. (though I should have, just tried and it looks better)

From my understanding, sharpening on export for your medium (screen/print) takes advantage of working alongside compression, minimizing artifacts but I don't think that's the point of the output sharpener in Nik Collection. (it just saves back into Lightroom)

Instead of using LR's sharpening/luminance I knew I'd be squeezing as much detail as I could out of this so instead used the three plugins from NC, which seem to take advantage of more efficient algorithms. I noticed that what little noise the sharpener created looked more like texture, adding slightly more perceived detail.

Great shot ....... I am amazed you can crop that much and still have an excellent image. Glad to see you got Nik, an awesome piece of software.

Well processed, great shot. Is that Nik raw sharpener you use? I'll have to have a lesson from you, one Monday.
