December's Club meeting:  (Dec 13th) will be a social, 'in person' get-together in the library programme room from 7 - 9 pm. Members of Photosynthesis (another photographic group on the Island) have been invited to come and mingle as well as contribute to the slide show.

Feel free to bring something snack-ish to the potluck - this is optional as there will be some food and sparkling apple cider (non-alcoholic) provided.

The theme for the slide show is 'Eclectic'. Something you love, something you're proud of, maybe something seasonal - your choice.

January Lobby Show at ArtSpring: Wendy is sending us details of the. You can submit 2 photos and don't forget to prioritize them in case there is only room to hang one of them. This will depend on how many people participate as well as the sizes of the photos. This is a great opportunity for newcomers to print, frame and display their photos.

Claudia is giving a talk in April, the first of next year's in-person meetings.

November’s Featured Speaker:

We watched a video of David DuChemin (of Nanoose Bay) https://davidduchemin.com/  talking on 'The Heart of the Photograph'. Some wonderful photos relating to choosing the right moment to press the shutter to express the feeling of the subject. He encourages photographers to get clear about what exactly it is that they want to share and express. If you take several pictures of a subject one photo will usually stand out as 'the one'. Hopefully, we can see more of his talk at another meeting. Several people expressed how much they enjoyed it.

Then we watched the slideshow of the 'Patterns' theme. As usual - an interesting and varied show.

Theme for December: Open – anything that makes you happy – even the season but not limited to it.
