Avril, it was in Sandwich, Massachusetts, and it was in a mill that was still being used for grinding corn, also a museum and this was one of the older grinding stones. Doug, I think somehow the import distorted the photo, when you look at it full screen, the wood wheel looks round to me.

Where was this, Tom--would it have been used for grinding corn or grain? A neat piece of old technology, probably very effective still, shines in that dark building.
