I like the pastels too. The room looks appealing to me; full of light, clean and uncluttered. Functional yet homey. Does Malakai know his name means 'messenger'?

Yes, to the forestry museum question, and Malakai is the short gentleman in question, being only 5 years old and little at that--my great nephew and Rennie's grandson.  He is actually under that hat and looking very dapper.
