I my books there's no red showing on any of them (female/young). Remind me to look at your bird books when I'm next over.

Actually I think it's the double-crested cormorant and it's either immature or female. I looked them up online and there are several photos looking like this of them. So not a foreign tourist.

Yes, very. I looked up cormorants but I missed this one -  the Red-faced cormorant. He's not supposed to be down here! They're usually up in the Aleutians and in Siberia.

I really like this; the sharp clarity of the bird and posts with the soft background of mud and seaweed and lichens. What is that beautiful bird?
